Description

We are building a new Museum for Waitaha Canterbury, a world-class facility for the taonga (treasures) we care for and a place to tell the stories of our region and the people who live here.

We have an opportunity for a natural history specialist to join us on our redevelopment journey as part of the team creating content for the new Museum.

This role will research and develop engaging natural history stories for new exhibitions. You will also support the Museum’s broader curatorial, collections and research activities.

To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for translating complex scientific information into engaging, curiosity-sparking content that is accessible to a wide audience. Experience developing stories and content for exhibitions, public programmes, online channels, or similar visitor-focused experiences would be an advantage.

We’re looking for someone with expertise in one or more natural history disciplines who can transform knowledge into meaningful stories that inspire curiosity, foster connection, and help our communities see the natural world in new way
