About the Role: As a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer at BTW, you will lead and manage both simple and complex geotechnical projects. Your advanced technical expertise will be crucial in providing geotechnical analysis, design, and advice to clients. You will play a key role in training and mentoring junior engineers and geologists, fostering their professional growth. Collaboration with clients and stakeholders will ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
·Lead geotechnical investigations, design, and project management: This involves overseeing and conducting geotechnical investigations, designing solutions, managing projects from inception to
completion and ensuring all projects comply with local and / or international geotechnical standards and regulations.
·Mentor a dedicated team of engineers and technicians: Providing guidance, support, and mentorship to a team of engineers and technicians to ensure their professional growth and development
·Build and maintain strong client relationships: Establishing and nurturing relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met and to foster long-term partnerships
What You’ll Bring:
·A suitable degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification.
·Chartered member of Engineering New Zealand (CMEngNZ) and CPEng (or PEngGeol) registered, or about to achieve chartership.
·At least 8 years’ consulting experience post degree related to Geotechnical engineering – with a significant amount of experience gained in New Zealand.
·Strong knowledge/interest in geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics.
·Proven leadership and project management skills
·Strong communication and client management abilities
