At BAM BAM Pile Driving, we’re proud to be building the infrastructure that powers New Zealand’s future. Our reputation has been built on delivering quality piling, civil and construction solutions safely, efficiently, and with integrity.

As we continue to grow, we’re seeking general labourers to join one of New Zealand’s largest renewable energy construction projects. This is your opportunity to be part of a project that will leave a lasting legacy while working alongside an experienced, supportive and hardworking team.

Ko tō tūranga – Your role

You’ll play a key role in performing tasks essential to the construction of the solar site and maintaining a clean, safe, and productive workspace. Your day may include:

  • Assisting with the construction and installation of solar farm infrastructure.
  • Supporting site crews with the installation of piles, solar components, mounting systems and other project works.
  • Loading, unloading and moving materials, tools and equipment around site.
  • Operating hand and power tools to complete construction tasks.
  • Preparing and maintaining safe, clean and organised work areas.
  • Performing manual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and repetitive bending.
  • Working collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople and other site personnel to meet project objectives.
  • Following all site rules, SWMS, JSEAs and WHS requirements.
  • Identifying and reporting hazards and contributing to a safe work environment.

No two days will be the same, and we’re looking for people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and support the wider team wherever needed.

Ōu pūkenga – What you’ll bring

We’re looking for people who take pride in their work, work safely, and thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.

Essential

  • Site Safe Passport (or equivalent).
  • A current occupational baseline hearing test (AS/NZS 1269.4:2014) completed within the last four weeks, or willingness to obtain one.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
  • Must currently reside in Taupō or be willing to relocate to the Taupō area for the duration of the project.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working on solar farm construction projects.
  • Full New Zealand Driver Licence (no conditions)
  • Basic trade knowledge or entry-level skills relevant to solar projects.
  • Additional civil plant licences, WTR (Wheel, Tracks and Rollers) endorsement, or machinery endorsements along with operating experience

You’ll be someone who is physically resilient, safety-focused, and highly reliable. You possess a strong work ethic and the punctuality needed for a fast-paced construction environment. You are a dedicated team player who takes pride in maintaining an organised work environment and can handle sustained manual labour.
