About the Role

Huka Lodge is seeking a Demi Chef to join our kitchen team, contributing to the exceptional dining experiences that define this century old lodge in the heart of Taupō. Working alongside a skilled and passionate culinary team, you will help deliver refined, seasonally driven dishes to our guests.

This role offers the chance to develop your craft in a premium lodge kitchen, learning from experienced chefs while contributing to menus that showcase the best of local and regional produce.

Accommodation is available for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
• Supporting section chefs across various kitchen stations
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in line with food safety standards
• Assisting with stock rotation, ordering and storage
• Contributing to menu development and seasonal specials
• Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen and service team
• Ensuring consistency and quality during busy service periods

About You

You are a passionate and developing chef who takes pride in your craft and thrives in a premium kitchen environment.

You will ideally have:

• Experience working in a professional kitchen, ideally fine dining or premium hospitality
• A genuine passion for food and continuous learning
• Strong attention to detail and consistency under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and evenings
• Current New Zealand working rights
