About the Role
Huka Lodge is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at one of New Zealand’s most celebrated luxury lodges. Set on the banks of the Waikato River, Huka Lodge has welcomed guests for close to a century, offering an exceptional culinary experience rooted in quality, precision and local produce.
In this role, you will take responsibility for a section of the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef and wider culinary team to prepare and deliver dishes to the highest standard. You will play a key role in maintaining consistency, quality and creativity across the menu, contributing to a memorable dining experience for every guest.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing your section of the kitchen during service
- Preparing and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
- Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef with menu development and execution
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Managing stock levels and minimising wastage within your section
- Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
- Collaborating with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
About You
You are a passionate and experienced Chef de Partie who takes pride in high standards and consistency in every dish.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie in a fine dining, luxury hotel or lodge environment
- Strong knife skills and a solid understanding of classical cooking techniques
- A genuine passion for food, local produce and hospitality
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure during service
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends
- Current New Zealand working rights
