Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to oversee construction projects in Christchurch, Canterbury. This permanent, full-time role is crucial for ensuring that building operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of construction processes, contributing to the successful delivery of projects within budget and on schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Manage and lead a team of construction workers, providing guidance and support.
• Monitor project progress and report on any issues or delays to management.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Assist in the planning and scheduling of project timelines.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Civil Foreman or in a similar supervisory role within the building and construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications in construction management or safety (e.g., Site Safety Supervisor, First Aid).
• A valid driver’s licence.
