About the role
We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our Orion product team, helping shape the future of our industry-leading software products.
Working closely with the Product Manager, you’ll translate business needs into clear, development-ready requirements that enable our developers and QA to deliver high-quality software with minimal rework. You’ll work with customers and internal stakeholders to understand business processes, document requirements, and support the delivery of valuable product enhancements.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills who enjoys solving business problems and working collaboratively within an agile product team.
What you’ll be doing
Requirements analysis
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements for new features and product enhancements.
- Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Document business processes, workflows, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Create well-defined user stories that provide developers with clear, testable requirements.
- Work closely with developers and QA throughout delivery to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity.
Product backlog support
- Help maintain a well-groomed product backlog with development-ready work items.
- Provide recommendations to the Product Manager on solution options and trade-offs.
- Assist with defining acceptance criteria and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Stakeholder engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for business requirements during feature delivery.
- Visit customer sites when required to understand and validate real-world workflows.
- Escalate complex or conflicting requirements to the Product Manager with clear recommendations.
About you
You’ll be a collaborative Business Analyst who enjoys working with customers, understanding business problems, and translating them into practical software solutions.
You’ll bring
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst or similar role.
- Experience eliciting and documenting business requirements, user stories and functional specifications.
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working with agile or iterative software delivery teams.
- Experience using backlog or issue management tools (such as Jira or Azure DevOps).
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a software product environment.
- Exposure to dealer management, workshop management or trade-based software.
- Business analysis certification (such as IIBA ECBA, CCBA or equivalent), or currently working towards one.
- Experience with process mapping and workflow documentation.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing.
