Description

People & Culture Coordinator

Auckland | Full-time

AS Colour is a New Zealand-born global apparel brand. We make quality basics designed to be worn, washed and lived in, and we’ve grown from our roots here in Aotearoa into a business with teams and operations across New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Europe and the US.

We’re proud of where we’ve come from, but we’re still growing and our People & Culture team plays an important part in supporting that growth.

We’re looking for a People & Culture Coordinator to join our Auckland-based P&C team.

The opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to step into a well-established role and build on the great work that’s already been done. You’ll have big shoes to fill, but we’re looking for someone who’s ready to make the role their own, get stuck in and put their own stamp on it.

You’ll be part of a small, collaborative People & Culture team where everyone gets stuck in and plays a part in keeping things moving.

This is a broad, hands-on P&C role supporting our people across New Zealand, Australia, Europe, the UK and the US.

You’ll work closely with the managers and employees across the business. A big part of the role is keeping our P&C operations running smoothly, including weekly payroll coordination, maintaining accurate employee information and working across multiple HRIS and other people-related systems and tools.

You’ll also get involved in recruitment, employee lifecycle processes, P&C initiatives and events and projects as they come up.

If you enjoy being organised, figuring things out, working with people and getting things done, this could be a great fit.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the day-to-day P&C needs of our teams across NZ, Australia, the UK and Europe
  • Providing occasional P&C coordination support to our US team
  • Coordinating the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contracts, employment changes and offboarding
  • Coordinating the weekly payroll process, working closely with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted on time
  • Working across multiple HRIS platforms and other P&C tools, keeping employee information accurate and systems up to date
  • Coordinating recruitment activity and supporting hiring managers throughout the process
  • Preparing HR documentation, letters and employment-related correspondence
  • Supporting leave and other employee lifecycle processes
  • Responding to employee and manager queries and escalating more complex matters where appropriate
  • Maintaining HR records, reporting and people data
  • Supporting the administration and rollout of HR policies and processes
  • Assisting with performance, development and employee relations processes
  • Organising P&C activities and events, from planning through to delivery
  • Supporting P&C projects and initiatives across the business
  • Looking for ways to make our P&C processes simpler and easier for our people and managers

About you

You’ll have some experience in an HR coordination or HR administration role, ideally around 2 years and be ready to take ownership of a broad range of P&C activities.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Is organised, reliable and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Takes initiative and is happy to get stuck in
  • Can work independently and knows when to ask for help
  • Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right
  • Is comfortable working with HRIS, payroll systems and multiple digital tools
  • Enjoys working with people and is confident dealing with employees, managers and external providers
  • Communicates clearly and in a straightforward way
  • Can handle confidential information with care and discretion
  • Is practical and solutions-focused
  • Enjoys being part of a team and contributing to the wider P&C function
  • Is keen to keep learning and build their P&C capability

Experience working across different countries or employment environments would be an advantage, but it’s not essential. We’re more interested in your approach, capability and willingness to learn.

Why AS Colour?

You’ll be joining a New Zealand-founded business with a genuinely global footprint, with the opportunity to work across different teams and employment environments.

You’ll be exposed to a wide range of P&C activity, while working closely with the wider People & Culture team. There’s plenty of opportunity to learn, contribute ideas and take ownership of your work.

We’re looking for someone who wants to make the role their own, someone who will bring their own ideas, energy and approach while building on what’s already working well.

What we offer

  • Full-time role based at our Auckland office
  • A varied P&C role within a growing global business
  • Exposure to NZ, Australia, UK, Europe and the US
  • Opportunities to learn and develop your P&C career
