We are seeking a friendly and reliable Housekeeping Assistant to join our caring team in a residential aged care setting. This role plays an important part in ensuring our residents, visitors, and staff enjoy a clean, safe, and comfortable environment every day. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness while supporting resident wellbeing and dignity.
About the Role
This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, working:
- 4 hours per day
- 5 days per week
- Availability to work at least one weekend day is essential
As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility
- Cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and staff spaces
- Following infection control and health & safety procedures
- Managing cleaning equipment and supplies responsibly
- Reporting maintenance issues and hazards
- Supporting a positive, welcoming atmosphere for residents, families, and visitors
- Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team environment
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Takes pride in their work and attention to detail
- Is reliable, trustworthy, and well organised
- Demonstrates compassion and respect when working around older people
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Is willing to learn and follow cleaning, infection control, and health & safety procedures
Previous housekeeping, cleaning, hospitality, or aged care experience is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right person.
