Align delivers infrastructure projects that help bring places and communities to life. We are a fast-growing and well-respected multi-disciplinary consultancy providing a range of complementary services including Crown-accredited property advisory, land acquisition, disposal, legalisation, asset management, planning services and project management. We help central and local government agencies, utility providers and private clients across the country from our offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Hawke’s Bay, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson and Christchurch. WHAT YOU’LL DO

Based in our Newmarket office and working as part of our Upper North Island team, you will take a key leadership role within our Auckland property team. You will work closely with the Regional Manager to support and develop the team, oversee project delivery and help grow our presence across the Auckland region.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will work across a range of property and infrastructure projects for our clients, delivering great project outcomes, strengthening client relationships and enhancing Align’s brand and reputation.

Key tasks associated with the role will include:

• Managing and delivering property projects and providing strategic property advice to clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring their needs are met through effective property solutions.
• Supporting and overseeing the Auckland Property team to deliver projects on time, within budget and to a high standard.
• Providing day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to team members, including work management and project oversight.
• Fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and values-driven team culture.
• Supporting staff reviews and the development of your team, including training and mentoring
• Assisting with recruitment and helping the Regional Manager to grow and develop the Auckland team and identify new opportunities.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients and prospective clients and key stakeholders.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALITIES

The role will be suited to a current Team Manager or Team Leader, or a senior property professional who is ready to take the next step in their career.

The ideal candidate will have excellent time management and attention to detail, a natural ability to build strong relationships, sound property knowledge and, above all, a collaborative approach. We are looking for someone who enjoys supporting others and is committed to contributing positively to both our team and Align’s wider culture.

You will have the following skills and experience:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Property or Law, and relevant industry experience in the property sector.
• Leadership or staff management experience would be an advantage, although we are also interested in experienced property professionals looking to take the next step into leadership.
• Good knowledge of the Public Works Act (1981) and other relevant legislation.
• Has experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders and navigating complex environments associated with development, infrastructure, network utilities and other projects.
• Proven property acquisition advisory, or other relevant property experience.
• Confident using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and MS Project
• Understanding of GIS systems and how they connect with property.
• Full current driving licence and New Zealand residency or citizenship.

Prior experience working on NZ Transport Agency projects, and/or already having or working towards Land Information New Zealand accreditation, would be beneficial, but not essential.
