About the role

As a Financial Accountant with Streem, you’ll actively contribute to an array of initiatives across the finance function. This is a fixed-term contract role, giving you the opportunity to work closely with our Malaysia and Sydney-based teams. 

 

A snapshot of what you’ll do: 

  • Prepare and review month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness;
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany balances across entities;
  • Support the preparation of management reports and financial statements;
  • Work closely with auditors and relevant stakeholders to support the timely finalisation of audits and financial statements;
  • Liaise with external tax agents and assist with tax, transfer pricing and compliance requirements.

 

About you

This role suits someone inquisitive, detail-oriented, and genuinely curious about media beyond your own backyard. You’ll need sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to take initiative and adapt to changing situations. 

 

What we’re looking for: 

  • 3-4 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role; 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance,, Business or a related discipline;
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting, month-end processes and reconciliations; 
  • Experience with financial reporting, audit and compliance requirements.
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Xero/Netsuite/Native CRM’s; 
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sharp attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, showcasing an enthusiastic and responsible attitude; 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; 
  • Media/news/content experience is highly advantageous.
