About Our Company
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, founded Godolphin as an expression of his lifelong passion for horses and racing. This passion grew into a major bloodstock operation and has resulted in the world’s largest and most global racing team, Godolphin, as well as the successful stallion operation, Darley.
Godolphin spans four contents, from our home in Dubai, to Europe, America and here in Australia. As one of the largest racing stables and breeding operations in the world, we work tirelessly to take the lead in both the lifetime care of our horses and in the professional development of people working in our industry.

Our locations
Kelvinside
Kelvinside is location at Aberdeen in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales. The stud is in the heart of the thoroughbred breeding region – just 15 minutes from Scone, the Horse Capital of Australia. The property covers approximately 2200 acres.
Kelvinside is home to the New South Wales Darley Stallions with the breeding season commencing from the 1st of September each year and concludes at the end of December. Our spelling, yearling education and pre-training operations are also based here.
Woodlands
Based at Denman in the Hunter Valley New South Wales, Woodlands is home to Godolphin’s prized broodmare band and is where the majority of mares foal down each season. The property encompassing more than 6,200 acres, Woodlands also hosts a substantial cattle breeding venture and is a key source of premium hay production.
At Woodlands, the mares are foaled down and their progeny are reared through to yearlings before travelling to Kelvinside to begin their yearling education. Woodlands is also home to our retired racehorses and stallions.
Northwood Park
Northwood Park is home to the Victorian Darley Stallion roster, mares and foals, and a select number of racehorses spelling from the Victorian racing string.
Northwood Park is unique in that the property is not only home to stallions, mares and their foals, but also growing yearling and resting racehorses which provides an opportunity to witness and experience the full life cycle – from covering, to foaling, weaning, rearing, returning to rest as a racehorse and hopefully then one day return as a stallion or broodmare.
The property is situated in Seymour, comprising of 1,200 acres of rich fertile sandy loan soil along the Goulburn River.
