An exciting opportunity is available for a third- or fourth-year Law student to join our Family team as a Law Clerk.

Reporting directly to the Family partner, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional legal services, including conducting thorough research and drafting a wide range of legal documents.

Your key tasks in this role will be

Liaising with clients, lawyers and colleagues
Diary and task management
Typing, editing and proof-reading correspondence, Court documents and publications
Collating disclosure and preparing briefs for Counsel
Additional administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of our practice
General administrative tasks as required
Any other duties as reasonably directed by senior lawyers in the Family team.

To excel in this role, you will

be currently studying or about to commence your third or fourth year studies in Law
have strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to apply critical thinking
possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships at all levels
have exceptional organisational skills with the ability to administer several tasks concurrently with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
be self-motivated and have the capability to work independently
be dedicated to maintaining confidentiality and providing excellence in client service
have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Accountabilities

Adherence to all T+M policies, systems and procedures.
Provide outstanding and professional customer service to clients.
Identify and make recommendations to improve efficiencies to existing policies, systems and processes.
Manage and resolve competing deadlines and balance priorities with efficiency.
Meet performance KPI's as reasonably set out by the Firm and/or the Family partner.

Key performance indicators

No breaches of policies, systems and procedures.
Complete duties with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure deadlines for task and projects are met.
Foster and maintain positive relationships with team members.
Maintain effective communication with other members of the Family team.
Ability to operate effectively as a team member.
High standard of interpersonal communication skills including the ability to liaise with all staff and clients in a professional and efficient manner.
