Summary:

The ESL Teacher is responsible for providing instruction to students learning the English language. They must create a supportive and encouraging environment for students, plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and adapt instruction to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver lessons to a range of classes and age groups
Develop and implement appropriate teaching strategies to engage and challenge learners
Adapt teaching methodologies to meet the individual needs of each student
Prepare classroom activities and learning materials
Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress
Monitor student participation and progress and communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and parents/caregivers
Maintain accurate student records and attendance sheets
Create a supportive and respectful learning environment for all students
Participate in professional development activities
Communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or master's degree in education, teaching, linguistics, or a related field
TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or other relevant teaching certification
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Experience teaching ESL to adults and/or children in classroom settings
Experience and/or familiarity with diverse cultures and customs
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Attention to detail, ability to organize and prioritize work
Experience in using technology to enhance teaching and learning is an added advantage
