Welcome to Girudala Community Cooperative Society Ltd, a proud, charitable community-controlled

not-for-profit organisation, that’s been empowering the community for over 50 years. And right now, we’re

looking for our new Operations Manager to help drive impact and excellence across our services.

The Role: Operations Manager

This is your chance to make a real difference while enjoying a balanced, coastal lifestyle. As Operations

Manager, you’ll lead diverse teams across health, aged care, housing, family well-being, and community

support. You’ll be at the heart of strengthening service delivery while supporting the voice, values, and

wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

What You Bring – Your Skills & Experience

Essential Requirements & Qualifications:

▪ A degree or postgraduate degree in Business Management or equivalent experience

▪ First Aid & CPR Certificates

▪ Blue Card

▪ National Police check (not more than 2 years old) or ability to obtain.

▪ Current Open C Class Manual Driver’s License.

Essential Skills and Experience:

▪ Service Management: Demonstrated understanding of service management principles, frameworks

and best practices to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services. This includes incident

management, problem management, change management, and service level management.

Previous experience in a similar role.

▪ Client Relationship Management: Service Delivery Managers need strong interpersonal and

communication skills, both verbal and written, to build and maintain relationships with clients. Ability

to understand client requirements, manage expectations, and ensure client satisfaction throughout

the service delivery process.

▪ Leadership: Possess leadership qualities to guide and motivate staff including the ability to delegate

tasks, provide clear directions, and inspire collaboration and teamwork.

▪ Project Management: Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects or initiatives.

Strong project management skills to plan, organise, and coordinate resources, timelines,

and deliverables are essential.

▪ Problem-Solving: Adept at analysing complex situations, identifying problems, and

proposing effective solutions and the ability to think critically and make decisions quickly to

address service- related challenges.

▪ Financial Management: Knowledge of budgeting, cost management, and financial planning to

ensure that service delivery stays within budget and aligns with financial goals.

▪ Continuous Improvement: Possess a mindset of continuous improvement, proactively identifying

areas for improvement, implementing process enhancements, and driving efficiency in service

delivery.

▪ Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging

technologies and ability to effectively communicate with technical teams.

▪ Commitment to Community: A dedication to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

families and communities to improve all services provided by Girudala.

▪ Work, Health and Safety: Knowledge and understanding fostering a quality safe workplace.

▪ Initiative, Accountability and Teamwork: A willingness to work respectively and

collaboratively with other Managers as required and the capacity to work independently within

the scope of the role.

▪ Organisational Skills: The ability to plan, organise and deliver effectively

▪ Computer Efficiency: Proficiency in using computers, including basic office software and

electronic health record systems, with a willingness to learn new systems as required.

▪ Efficiency and Accountability: Demonstrated ability to monitor grant funding agreements, budgets

and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

▪ Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations: An understanding and commitment to the

concept, philosophy and practice.

▪ Awareness and Understanding: An awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and

the generational impacts of this history, particularly in the context of the issues that Closing the Gap

initiative aims to address and a demonstrated understanding of indigenous leadership and the

strengthening of relationships with Elders and young people in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

communities.

Aboriginality is not an essential requirement of this role however Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

people are strongly encouraged to apply.
