Summary:

The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting, taxation compliance, and general accounting functions. Working under the supervision of a senior accountant or manager, this role provides hands-on experience across a variety of industries and clients, including exposure to Australian tax legislation, ATO requirements, and industry-specific compliance.

Responsibilities:

Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries
Prepare financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Assist with budget preparation and forecasting
Reconcile bank statements and other financial records
Assist with audits and tax filings
Provide support to senior accounting staff as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance
Working towards CA or CPA qualification.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Xero, MYOB and similar)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
