Cancer Council WA is Western Australia’s leading cancer charity, working across every aspect of every cancer. We know that tackling cancer takes all of us. Together, we support families affected by cancer when they need it most, speak out on behalf of the community on cancer issues, empower people to reduce their cancer risk, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer. With your help, we’re getting closer to a future without cancer. It’s all of us against cancer.
We always seek the most solid foundation of evidence available in every practice we embrace.
We have high standards and we do what we say we will do. We are transparent and consistent in the way we work and relate.
We strive for an equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to achieve the best possible level of health and wellbeing.
Our staff are our biggest assets and our best advocates. You represent our organisation and enable us to make a difference and do our work.
In return we are proud to foster a culture that supports individuals to reach their full potential, in an environment that reflects our values of evidence, integrity, care, equity, collaboration and boldness.
If you are passionate about contributing to a cancer free future, we would love to hear from you.
Being a not-for-profit organisation allows us to offer our employees access to some amazing tax savings through salary packaging. This helps you reduce your taxable income and increase your take home pay through offsetting general expenses, venue hire, meals and entertainment.
We want to ensure that all our employees have the skills and knowledge they need in their current role, while also identifying areas for development to take on future opportunities. We are very committed to internal development opportunities and growing our people. Study Leave may also be available to assist with your work-related continued education.
As part of our commitment to our staff’s wellbeing, Cancer Council WA has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that is available to all staff.
The aim of EAP is to provide preventive and proactive interventions for the early detection, identification and/or resolution of both work and personal problems that may adversely affect performance and wellbeing.
Cancer support leave – to provide support for employees impacted by cancer, either through their own diagnosis and treatment or in the provision of primary care to an immediate family member.
Family and domestic violence leave – available should you find yourself in situation where you need to deal with the impact of family violence.
Supporting staff who wish to ride to work or fit some exercise into their working day is important. Most of our offices have shower facilities available and secure on-site bicycle storage.
Cancer Council WA is committed to providing a safe environment for staff, this includes in protection from the known harm from UV. All Cancer Council WA locations are stocked with sunscreen and all employees are provided their own bucket hat to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays when heading out of the office.
All employees are encouraged to volunteer by taking time out of their normal roles to support Cancer Council WA fundraising activities. It is a wonderful opportunity for employees to represent Cancer Council and feel connected to our vital work within the community.
