About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Machine Operator to join our salad washing and processing team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our machinery runs smoothly, products meet quality standards, and daily production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
This is a full-time afternoon shift, working Monday to Friday from 2pm. Finish times depend on daily production volumes and generally range from 11:30pm to 1:30am. Applicants must be available to work until 1:30am when required.
Key responsibilities
- Operate salad washing and vertical form-fill-seal packaging machines
- Monitor bagging operations to ensure maximum efficiency
- Set up machines correctly, including changing packaging and settings as needed
- Troubleshoot basic machine issues and breakdowns
- Enter production data into the ERP system (Dynamics)
- Complete daily machinery checks and quality inspections
- Ensure product quality, weights, sealing, and labelling meet specifications
- Support and assist other production teams as required
Assist with cleaning and sanitisation activities
About you
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or machine operation preferred
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Good English literacy and computer skills
- Attention to detail and a mechanical mindset
- Comfortable working in a cold environment (3–5°C)
- Team player who’s flexible and willing to help where needed
- Keen to take on extra responsibility and develop leadership skills
