We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our culinary team in Auckland. If you love working with fresh ingredients, enjoy the energy of a busy kitchen and are eager to develop your culinary skills, we’d love to hear from you! The opportunity is for a full-time permanent role with minimum 32 hours of work per week, between Monday to Sunday as per roster.

What you’ll be doing

• Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes to Naumi’s quality standards.
• Support the Chef de Partie and wider kitchen team in delivering consistent, high-quality food experiences.
• Ensure ingredients, mise en place and kitchen sections are prepared for service.
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with stock rotation, portion control and minimising food waste.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
• Bring a positive attitude, creativity and a willingness to learn every day.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a hotel or restaurant environment.
• A genuine passion for food, cooking and developing culinary skills.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations and food safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A reliable, flexible and team focused approach.
• Willingness to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Valid working rights in New Zealand.
