About the Role & Our Community

Te Aranga Health is a community-focused general practice operating within a Kaupapa Māori framework. For over 30 years, He Waka Tapu has been a trusted pillar in our community, particularly supporting our most vulnerable people.

As our new Registered Nurse, you will be an integral part of our collaborative team. You won’t be working in isolation; you will partner with our wider social service teams to deliver pro-equitable, patient-centred care that enhances the mana of everyone who walks through our doors.

What You Will Bring (Skills & Experience)

We are looking for a compassionate clinician who understands that true health involves Tinana, Wairua, Hinengaro, and Whānau.

• Qualifications: Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current, valid APC.
• Cultural Competence: A strong understanding of (or a genuine desire to work within) a Māori organisation, meeting tikanga and kawa requirements.
• Resilience & Empathy: Experience working within low-decile or high-needs complex communities. You project a calm demeanour, remaining professional and understanding, , setting respectful boundaries with empathy, and de-escalating situations when chronic health issues cause patient frustration.
• Equity-Driven: A proven commitment to achieving pro-equitable health outcomes for the community.
• Team Player: High level of professionalism, outstanding communication, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
