About the organisation
He Waka Tapu is a Kaupapa Māori organisation who have been supporting individuals and the community for over 30 years.
About the role
We are looking for a community focussed nurse, who is passionate about health education and supporting whānau to decode and demystify health concerns, and improve health across a wide continuum.
This will include but is not limited to; Mental Health & Addictions, Physical Health, and Social Wellbeing. The ideal candidate will preferably have experience working with whānau who have complex health concerns, including those related to addiction.
The role will collaborate with other internal teams and kaimahi who share a passion for their mahi, the organisation and taking a holistic approach to wellbeing. This is an amazing opportunity to work as a nurse and have a real impact on better outcomes for our community.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Wainoni, Ōtautahi.
Skills and experience
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse and hold current Nursing council of New Zealand practising certificate.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a Māori organisation/content and be able to meet the tikanga/kawa requirements.
- A high standard of professionalism and work ethic
- Outstanding motivational and communication skills
- An ability to contribute positively within a team
