Description

Hampshire Holiday Parks

Are you an experienced multi-site operational leader who thrives on developing great teams, improving performance and being close to the action?

Hampshire Holiday Parks is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead and support a portfolio of holiday parks across New Zealand.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll work closely with our Park Managers to drive strong commercial outcomes, exceptional guest experiences and safe, compliant operations. You’ll be a highly visible leader across our parks, providing coaching, direction and practical support while ensuring each property is performing at its best.

About the role

As Operations Manager, you’ll take ownership of the operational and commercial performance of your portfolio. You’ll build strong relationships with Park Managers, establish clear expectations and provide the support and accountability they need to succeed.

You’ll also act as an important link between our parks and Head Office, partnering with teams including Revenue, Marketing, Sales, Finance and HR to continuously improve the way we operate.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, coaching and supporting Park Managers across your portfolio
  • Monitoring park performance, budgets, P&Ls, wages, stock and operating costs
  • Establishing a strong operating rhythm through regular WIPs, reporting and site visits
  • Identifying opportunities to improve revenue, reduce costs and strengthen operational performance
  • Supporting workforce planning, performance management and capability development
  • Driving exceptional guest and resident experiences
  • Ensuring operational, health and safety and compliance standards are consistently maintained
  • Working collaboratively with Head Office teams to deliver business initiatives
  • Providing hands-on operational support within parks when required.

About you

We’re looking for a commercially minded and people-focused leader who is comfortable moving between strategic oversight and hands-on operational support.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in multi-site operations, ideally within hospitality, tourism, accommodation or another customer-focused environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing managers
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience with P&Ls, budgets, forecasting and cost control
  • Experience managing wages, rostering, cost of sales and stock
  • A strong focus on guest experience and service delivery
  • Confidence managing operational compliance and health and safety requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Confidence using business systems, reporting tools, dashboards and Excel
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent practical experience.

What will make you successful

You’re someone who builds trust quickly, sets clear expectations and follows through. You’re comfortable having performance conversations, interpreting the numbers and turning insights into practical actions for your managers.

Most importantly, you enjoy being in the parks and alongside your teams, rather than leading solely from behind a desk.

The practical stuff

This role involves regular travel throughout New Zealand, including a strong on-site presence during peak trading periods. You’ll need a full New Zealand driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel, with travel arrangements and reimbursements managed in accordance with Hampshire policies.

Why Hampshire?

At Hampshire, our culture is underpinned by care, courage and innovation. We want our people to feel supported, valued and empowered to contribute to the success of our parks and the experiences we create for our guests.

If you’re an experienced operational leader looking for a role where you can genuinely influence people, performance and the guest experience across a growing portfolio, we’d love to hear from you.
