SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Cover Driver has a varied role combining both category C+E and C vehicle tasking that includes (not exhaustive) vac tank/tipper/Refuge Collection Vehicle (RCV)and hook loader tasks with collection of food waste from customers and delivery of the company’s bio-fertiliser product to customers. A requirement of this role will also include intra site movement and overnight tramping (not exhaustive)

Responsibilities: (Not exhaustive)

Meeting all H&S requirements by following all company policy and procedure
Waste collection from all customer and company owned sites including (Artic, hook-loader and RCV where applicable)
Intra Site movement including overnight tramping as the business requires
Ensuring all goods are transported safely and securely
Delivering bio-fertiliser to lagoons and field sites
Completing vehicle defect checks daily
Completing accurate logbooks and paperwork
Daily cleaning and filling of vehicles as required
Carry out basic routine maintenance, such as oil, tyre and brake checks.
Efficient and high standards of customer service
Ensuring work within parameters of working time directive with no infringements
Maintain a clean, fit for purpose Driving License

Primary Responsibilities

Completing deliveries to schedule: Driving Legal, Safely and Efficiently
Customer Satisfaction: Completely all safety checks and following all H&S procedures as required

Personal Specification

Essential:

Qualifications & Training : Driver CPC (required), Driver Card (required), Categories C+E and C License (required), Digi Card
Experience: Categories C+E and C License, Both or at least one for tipper and Vac/RCV and Hook Loader experience (training can be provided)
Professional Experience: Must be fully competent and conversant with the role and responsibilities of a professional driver
Qualities and Attitude: Honest, approachable, can-do, flexible, consistent, a self-starter able to roll sleeves up as required.
Flexibility: Overtime as required by business need, Weekend work may be a requirement of the role

Desirable:

Product Knowledge: Knowledge of the industry is desirable but not essential

Professional Experience

Must have at least two years consistent employment as a Class 1 Driver
