Hello and welcome back to the Employment Hero monthly product update! December is here and that means one thing – we’ve got a whole bunch of new product updates to share with you.

In our November product wrap up, you’ll learn all about the latest improvements to our applicant tracking system (ATS) and wider HR platform. All are designed to reduce your time to hire and make recruitment easy and efficient.

An easier way to offboard employees

You asked, and we listened! Our offboarding feature had a glow-up in November, with some key improvements to make the process smoother and well-timed.

All HR admins will have access to a comment section field for the candidate being offboarded. There are also a few new settings for scheduling – one is an ‘Employee AcceScreenshot of offboarding form in Employment Hero appss’ setting, which allows admins to choose when they want to remove the employee’s access to their Employment Hero platform.

 

Another is a ‘Payroll Cut Off Date’ feature, which allows HR admins to set the final date of the employee’s payroll status, saving double data entry and ensuring that the exiting employee receives the correct final pay.

Contractor management

We’ve updated the platform to ensure that any independent contractors working at your organisation can be seen easily under the person they’re reporting to.

You can also sort contractors alphabetically in the platform and filter them by status – either ‘active’, ‘pending’ or ‘terminated’.

This will be useful for businesses when organising contract staff, especially during the upcoming summer season.

Enhancements to the Recruitment module (ATS)

Evaluate interviews

Keeping track of multiple candidates can be a challenge during hiring. An update to our ATS will allow you to create, edit and assign evaluations for interview stages. This creates an easy source of information about each candidate for recruiters and hiring managers alike.

If you’re a numbers-driven person, you can also submit a scorecard for candidates, so that it’s easy to track the quality of candidates across the board.

Tag and sort candidates

We’re offering streamlined visibility to recruiters and hiring managers when it comes to candidates. Now, you can block (or unblock) single candidates or several at once, which means you won’t receive any of their future applications or notifications.

It’s also easier to filter candidates by ‘blocked’, ‘onboarded’ and ‘referred’ in the candidate profiles and candidate lists for an open role. This should make it easier to check the overall candidate status and collect data for reporting.

Finally, we’ve introduced new tags to recognise those candidates who’ve already applied to the organisation and are submitting an application again.

If they’ve previously applied to another role, the candidate will be automatically tagged as ‘prev applied’, and links will be provided to their other applications.

If the candidate has re-applied to the same role, the application will be marked as ‘duplicate’ and the second application will be automatically disqualified.
