Description

Role Overview:

The People & Culture Leader provides essential day to day operational support across human resources, payroll administration, workplace health and safety, and policy compliance.

This role ensures core people functions run smoothly and enables the People & Operations Manager to focus on strategic and complex matters.

Qualifications:

Essential:

Certificate IV or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

Minimum 4 years’ experience in an HR administration, payroll support, or WHS coordination role.

Demonstrated understanding of employment legislation and award interpretation basics.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in data entry and records management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and experience with payroll and HR information systems.

Valid National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable:

Experience in a not-for-profit or community services environment.

Familiarity with the SCHADS & General Retail Award and portable long service leave schemes.

Experience supporting WHS committees or coordinating workplace health and safety activities.

Knowledge of the Lifeline organisation and the community mental health sector.

 

Key Responsibilities

HR, Administration & Recruitment Support

Coordinate recruitment processes including advertising, scheduling interviews, preparing contracts, and completing pre-employment checks.

Maintain employee records, HR databases, and personnel files in an accurate and confidential manner.

Support the onboarding and induction process for new employees and volunteers.

Track mandatory training, certification renewals, and probationary review dates, and coordinate reminders with managers.

Support the offboarding process including exit documentation and equipment return.

Oversee management of Volunteer Management System (Rosterfy).

 

Workplace Health & Safety Support

Maintain the WHS documentation register including risk registers, inspection checklists, and incident logs.

Coordinate workplace inspections, WHS committee meeting logistics, and minute-taking.

Support the lodgement and tracking of workers compensation claims, including administrative correspondence with insurers.

Ensure WHS noticeboards, emergency procedures, and safety information are current across all sites.

Policies & Procedures

Maintain the policy and procedure register and support scheduled review processes.

Assist in drafting and formatting updated policies under the direction of the Operations & Compliance Manager.

Ensure staff acknowledgement records are maintained following policy updates.

Ensure compliance of operational policies.

General Operations

Provide administrative support to the People & Operations Manager and management team on operational matters.

Prepare correspondence, reports, and documentation as directed.

Contribute to continuous improvement of operational systems and processes.
