Bibra Lake, Western Australia 6163, Australia • Full-time

Description

ICT Specialist

Circa $100,000 base, per annum

Propel Marine is a leading provider of technical and operational maritime services across Australia and internationally. We’re a values-driven organisation that prides itself on professionalism, teamwork, and practical, well-designed solutions that support both our people and our clients.

We’re looking for a capable and proactive ICT Specialist to take ownership of our IT environment and day-to-day technology operations. This is a standalone, hands-on role with real scope to influence how technology supports and enables the business.

You’ll be the go-to person for all things IT, partnering closely with leaders and team members to keep systems running smoothly, improve security and performance, and deliver technology solutions that genuinely make work easier.

This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, and being trusted to design and implement practical IT solutions in a growing organisation.

What You’ll Do

Take ownership of day-to-day IT support across the organisation, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.

Manage and maintain IT infrastructure including networks, cloud-based systems, and core platforms.

Implement and monitor IT security measures to protect company data and systems.

Plan and deliver IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, process automation, and new technology solutions.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across systems.

Set up, configure, and deploy hardware and software for new and existing employees.

Maintain clear and up to date IT documentation.

Monitor system performance and address issues proactively.

Research, recommend, and implement technologies that improve efficiency, security, and user experience.

Train and support employees in IT best practice and new systems.

About You

You’re a hands-on IT professional who enjoys being trusted to run things end-to-end. You’re comfortable balancing day-to-day support with longer term improvements and projects, and you communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You’ll bring:

A qualification in IT or equivalent practical experience.

Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a hands-on IT support or ICT role.

Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking.

Solid experience with Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online and OneDrive.

Experience with Microsoft cloud and management tools such as Entra, Intune and Defender.

Experience delivering IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, or automation initiatives.

A sound understanding of IT security principles and disaster recovery.

Experience with system backups, monitoring, and documentation.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts simply.

A proactive mindset and genuine interest in improving how technology supports the business.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter outlining what you’d bring to the role and why Propel Marine is the right fit for you.

Applications close 21 January 2026.
