About the Role:
The State Manager’s role is to lead, drive and oversee all aspects of OzHarvest’s food rescue operations, funding & partnerships and team culture in Western Australia to ensure the smooth operation, and sustainable growth of OzHarvest in the region. We are seeking a driven, impact-oriented people leader who builds strong relationships, manages teams and budgets efficiently and leads with purpose.
*This role will be located at our Perth warehouse, an expectation to have a strong in-person presence with a balance of flexible/remote work.
What will you get to do?
Drive strategy and growth
- Shape and implement the WA strategic and business plan; setting ambitious targets, building the right structure and clearing the path to sustainable growth.
- Identify and recruit for key roles that unlock OzHarvest’s next chapter in WA.
- Develop and maintain relationships with government stakeholders in partnership with HQ.
Own events, funding and partnerships
- Be the face of OzHarvest in Western Australia; showing up with energy, professionalism and genuine connection.
- Alongside the Engagement Team, build and manage local corporate and philanthropic partnerships.
- Actively seek out new fundraising opportunities and deepen relationships with existing donors.
- Champion the Cooking for a Cause program and foster engagement initiatives alongside program leads.
Operations & Compliance
- Lead the management/maintenance of building infrastructure, assets, technology and real estate keeping things safe, functional and fit for purpose.
- Manage the WA budget with rigour, ensuring effective cost control across all operational areas.
- Prepare reports for the COO and contribute to board reporting.
- Uphold WHS requirements, best practice policies and all relevant State and Federal compliance obligations.
- Contribute to national staff meetings and represent WA in the broader OzHarvest team.
Lead people and culture
About you:
- You have 5+ years in a senior leadership or management role, ideally with both HQ and state or remote teams, and a proven track record in operations, logistics or organisational management at scale.
- You bring experience in fundraising or partnerships; you know how to build a room and close a deal
- Equally comfortable with budgets and governance as you are with the people work.
- A natural relationship builder, you can hold your own in a boardroom or on the warehouse floor.
- A current driver’s licence and valid Police Check are essential (or willingness to obtain).
- Formal qualifications in business, operations or project management are desirable
