The Role
We are seeking reliable, professional and community-minded Residential Services Duty Managers to join our Residential Services team. Reporting to the Residential & Events Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents while overseeing the security and day-to-day operations of the College during evenings and weekends.
As the primary on-site contact outside standard business hours, you will play an important role in supporting student wellbeing, responding to incidents and emergencies, managing front office operations, and ensuring residents and visitors receive a positive and professional experience.
This is a sole-charge position that requires sound judgement, initiative and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Shifts are generally 7:00am – 3:00pm, or 3:00pm – 11:00pm. Weekend and weekday availability is essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintaining the safety and security of College buildings and residents.
• Responding to emergencies, incidents, wellbeing concerns and resident requests.
• Conducting regular security walks across campus.
• Managing front office operations during evenings and weekends.
• Welcoming and assisting residents, visitors and academic guests.
• Supporting College events, functions and student activities.
• Preparing daily reports, incident reports and maintaining accurate records.
• Issuing and managing keys and electronic access cards.
• Liaising with security personnel and internal stakeholders.
• Ensuring confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

You are a calm, approachable and confident professional who enjoys working with people and contributing to a positive community environment. You can work independently, make sound decisions under pressure, and deliver excellent customer service with warmth and professionalism.

• Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive community environment.
• Current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Full working rights in Australia.
Desirable:
• Experience working in a residential college, accommodation, hospitality or similar environment.
• Familiarity with security or access control systems.
• First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, RSA or Risk Management qualifications.
