To help us with our mission of making the Australian dream of home ownership, a reality for everyone, we are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting and Tax Manager to join our team.
The Role
Working closely with the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Reporting and Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring the group’s financial statements comply with reporting standards while also managing the group’s tax compliance and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with reporting standards for 40+ group entities.
- Oversee the general ledger, review balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage income tax, GST, FBT, and payroll tax obligations ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and deadlines.
- Advise on the tax implications of business decisions, property acquisitions, transactions, and structures.
- Manage the group’s Division 7A compliance.
- Liaise with tax advisors, authorities, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
Experience and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- CA/CPA qualified.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Perfect role for a first/second time mover from a Big-4 or mid-tier firm with a business services/tax background.
- Experience in the property development or construction industry preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed to explain complex financial information to various stakeholders.
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to meet deadlines.
