Harwell Home Care is seeking an accomplished finance and business performance leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as Chief Financial and Business Performance Officer (CFBPO).
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role provides enterprise-wide leadership across finance, commercial, legal, contractual, payroll, pricing, procurement, risk, and business performance functions. The CFBPO partners closely with the CEO, Executive team, and Board to enable informed, evidence-based decision-making and long-term sustainability.
This opportunity will suit a commercially minded finance leader with strong enterprise capability who is ready to apply their expertise at an executive level within a complex, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Performance
- Lead multi-year financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and statutory reporting
- Provide financial insights and advice to the CEO, Executive, and Board
- Oversee financial controls, cash flow, liquidity, and risk management
Commercial, Legal & Contract Governance
- Provide executive oversight of commercial, legal, and contractual matters
- Ensure contracts align with organisational objectives, risk appetite, and value-for-money principles
- Identify, mitigate, and escalate commercial and legal risks
Payroll, Pricing & Procurement
- Lead remuneration strategy and payroll governance, ensuring legislative and award compliance
- Set and approve pricing frameworks for services and technology offerings
- Provide executive oversight of procurement and approval frameworks
Data, Performance & Optimisation
- Oversee enterprise-wide financial and operational reporting and analytics
- Enable data-driven insights across service delivery, workforce, and financial performance
- Lead continuous improvement and business optimisation initiatives
People Leadership
- Lead and develop the Finance and Business Performance team
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Government Funding, S@H & DVA
- Provide executive financial leadership supporting Support at Home (S@H) readiness and transition
- Lead financial modelling, pricing, and margin analysis aligned to S@H funding structures
- Ensure financial governance, compliance, and audit readiness across government-funded programs
- Provide financial oversight for DVA-funded services, including pricing, reporting, and compliance
About You
You are a strategic and commercially astute finance leader, currently a CFO or a Financial Controller ready to step into a CFO-level role, with the ability to operate at an enterprise and executive level and influence decisions across the organisation.
Essential
- Demonstrated leadership of finance and business performance functions within a complex organisation
- Proven ability to influence Executive and Board-level decision-making
- Strong commercial, contractual, and risk management capability
- Experience leading or overseeing teams across finance, payroll, billing, and/or commercial functions
- CPA or CA qualification
- Experience within health, aged care, or human services, including regulated or government-funded environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting organisations operating within or transitioning to Support at Home (S@H) or comparable funding models

Postgraduate qualification in financial management
