Environmental Projects Manager – Natural Capital

Gunn Agri Partners was established in 2013 and provides agricultural investment and farm management services for Australian, North American and European investors.  Gunn Agri Partners manages over $1.2bn of assets and commitments managed across five investment platforms.

Gunn Agri manages agriculture assets Australia wide in mixed farming, grains, grass fed protein, tree nuts, stone fruit and natural capital.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Environmental Projects Manager to lead the delivery of environmental and natural capital projects across our farming platforms.

About the Role

Reporting to the Divisional Director – Natural Capital, this role will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of environmental projects across mixed farming, livestock and cropping operations.

You will work closely with operational and executive stakeholders to deliver projects that support carbon, biodiversity and broader sustainability outcomes, while ensuring commercial practicality and operational success.

Ideally based in Brisbane, this is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys balancing strategic project planning with on-the-ground implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of environmental and natural capital projects across multiple farming platforms
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines and contractor engagement
  • Identify and assess opportunities in carbon, biodiversity and environmental markets
  • Work closely with platform and farm management teams to align projects with operational priorities and seasonal conditions
  • Support procurement, budgeting and commercial decision-making with a strong focus on value and project outcomes
  • Coordinate consultants, contractors and service providers to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently
  • Maintain project reporting, compliance documentation and stakeholder communications
  • Contribute to process improvements, innovation and best-practice project delivery across the Natural Capital division

About You

You are a practical and commercially focused project manager with strong agricultural industry knowledge and experience delivering projects from planning through to execution.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Agribusiness, Agricultural Science, Natural Resource Management, Business or a related discipline
  • Experience managing projects within agriculture, natural capital, sustainability, land development or related sectors
  • Strong understanding of Australian agricultural production systems, particularly mixed farming, livestock and/or cropping operations
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to assess costs, risks, returns and operational trade-offs
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience coordinating teams, contractors and external providers
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and reporting capabilities
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office and GIS/mapping applications
