About this role
As a Quantity Surveyor with Wormall Civil, you’ll provide professional cost and contract management services for land development, road and civil infrastructure projects across the Perth Metro and Southwest WA regions.
We’re actively looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyors, and an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
Working under the direction of the Commercial Lead, you’ll contribute to the delivery of projects on time, within budget and in compliance with company and statutory requirements.
What will your day look like?
- Support and or prepare and maintain cost plans, budgets and cashflow forecasts at all project stages, supporting the project leadership teams.
- Prepare and review tender documentation, evaluate bids and make recommendations for award.
- Identify and analyse the cost and time impact of design changes, delays and risks.
- Support and lead project take-off process on projects initiation/kick-off stage, providing inputs to and assist with planning / programming, procurement, resource allocation and change management.
- Assess drawing revisions and quantify changes throughout the project delivery phase.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial and commercial reports for the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Project Managers.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors and clients to resolve issues.
What kind of experience are we looking for?
- Senior QS – previous experience leading and mentoring direct reports.
- Sound knowledge of civil construction processes, including earthworks, drainage, roads, utilities and common services.
- Understanding of Australian Standard and other standard form contracts.
- Competent in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and plans.
- Understanding of WHSEQ systems and processes with the ability to identify risks and report provide appropriate report and advice.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, Power BI, Plan swift (or similar software) – advantageous)
What are the minimum requirements for these roles?
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
- 3-5 years’ experience in quantity surveying or related discipline within civil construction, land development or infrastructure projects (Senior – 5+ years)
- Membership of or eligibility for membership with AIQS or RICS highly regarded.
- Valid and Current WA Driver’s Licence
- Australian Citizen or Perm Resident status
