Duties

Interpreting Blueprints: Builders study and interpret construction blueprints and plans to understand the scope of the project, including dimensions, materials, and layout.

Foundation Work: Builders are responsible for laying the foundation of the structure, which involves excavating, pouring concrete, and ensuring it meets structural requirements.

Constructing Structural Elements: Builders erect structural elements such as walls, floors, and roofs using various materials like concrete, steel, or wood, ensuring they meet building codes and standards.

Installing Fixtures and Fittings: Builders install fixtures and fittings like doors, windows, plumbing, and electrical systems, ensuring they are properly aligned and functional.

Managing Materials: Builders oversee the procurement, delivery, and storage of construction materials, ensuring they are of the required quality and quantity.

Coordinating with Subcontractors: Builders coordinate with subcontractors such as electricians, plumbers, and carpenters to ensure their work aligns with the project timeline and specifications.

Ensuring Compliance: Builders ensure that all construction activities comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards to maintain a safe and legal work environment.

Monitoring Progress: Builders oversee the progress of the project, inspecting workmanship, resolving issues, and adjusting plans as necessary to keep the project on track.
