As the Operations Manager – Fabrication & Overhaul you will be located in Gladstone reporting directly to the General Manager. This position is responsible for leading a team of Supervisors & Tradespeople to ensure work is being managed and completed in a timely manner. Leading a team of project delivery professionals, you will be accountable for setting strategy, direction, priorities, and accountabilities. You will lead and collaborate to share expertise, experience, resources and market intelligence to enhance overall operational capability.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Ensure efficient and consistent processes, standards and systems are used in project delivery.
- Ensure the safe delivery and successful growth of the Fabrication & Overhaul business unit.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely with a high-quality focus, as per agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders regarding contractual issues and execution of contract deliverables.
- Engage with functional teams including HSE, HR, Finance and Business Support Services to achieve the target based outcomes.
- Focus on building long term relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Strong HSEQ focus and leadership capability.
- Willingness to improve systems and processes to gain optimal output from our assets and people.
ABOUT YOU
- Previous experience in the management and delivery of multi-discipline complex contracts .
- Demonstrated experience with a background in workshop management in heavy fabrication/overhaul.
- A high level of business and commercial acumen with the ability to read, interrogate and interpret cash, cost, WIP and revenue project position with a sound understanding of production controls, procurement plans and programs / schedules.
- A proven ability to develop and maintain key internal and external relationships and excellent communications skills
- Previous experience in estimating complex workshop & field based construction style work.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and lead cross-functional and multi-disciplinary project teams
