We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Aboriginal Health Worker to join our Yadhaba/yadha muru Social and Emotional Wellbeing team, with a focus on suicide prevention and support. This is your opportunity to walk alongside community, deliver culturally safe care, and contribute to stronger health and healing outcomes.

About the Role

You’ll work directly with Aboriginal clients, families, and community members to provide:

Mental health, AOD, and suicide prevention support

Individual case management and referrals

Education and awareness workshops for community, with a focus on suicide awareness and resilience building

Collaborative care with GPs, health professionals, and support services

Holistic SEWB programs, including yarning circles and workshops

This role embraces a transdisciplinary approach, working closely with colleagues across health, wellbeing, and community sectors to ensure wraparound care that is culturally responsive and community-led. You’ll be part of a team that values collective knowledge, shared responsibility, and holistic healing.

What You’ll Bring

Aboriginality and strong connection to the local Darkinjung community

Experience in Aboriginal health or social services

Minimum Cert IV in Mental Health & AOD (or equivalent experience)

Skills in client assessment, case management, and suicide prevention/support

A commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed practice

Desirable: Knowledge of intergenerational trauma, local community networks, and experience delivering SEWB or suicide prevention initiatives.
