The Opportunity

Join our Production team as a Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This is your chance to play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly by ensuring the right materials are available at the right time – no surprises, no delays.

You'll be the backbone of our supply chain, supporting our production team to deliver high-quality Supacolour products on time, every time.

What You'll Do

Inventory Management

Maintain accurate stock records and predict future material needs using sales data and usage trends
Ensure timely replenishment to avoid production delays
Implement strict FIFO stock rotation policies
Organize and oversee orderly storage of materials

Purchasing & Supplier Relations

Coordinate with local and international suppliers, manufacturers, and freight forwarders
Manage procurement timelines and transportation logistics (sea, air, courier)
Monitor costs and delivery times to optimize procurement decisions
Standardize processes across APAC locations

Inwards Goods & Operations

Operate forklifts to unload and organize incoming shipments
Check and receipt all goods, ensuring quality and accuracy
Process receiving paperwork efficiently
Handle returns and dispatching when required

Systems & Continuous Improvement

Maintain inventory management systems with accurate data input
Lead improvements to stock control processes
Ensure compliance with inventory policies and suggest enhancements

Teamwork

Support supervision, coaching, and training of inventory staff
Share best practices and ensure consistency across shifts

What You'll Bring

Essential Experience & Skills

2-3 years in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory coordination
Strong organizational and analytical abilities
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
Current driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

Manufacturing or print industry experience
Knowledge of New Zealand import practices
Experience with inventory or ERP software
Familiarity with vendor relationship management

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 20kg

Comfortable standing, walking, bending throughout working hours

Capable of working with moderate to high noise levels

Able to work safely with chemicals and moving machinery using appropriate PPE
