### Job Description: Claims Officer / Insurance Assistant

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Claims Officer / Insurance Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the processing of insurance claims, ensuring that claims are handled efficiently and in compliance with company policies and procedures. You will play a crucial role in supporting our clients, handling inquiries, and collaborating with various teams to deliver exceptional service. **Responsibilities:**

- Review and process insurance claims submitted by clients to ensure completeness and accuracy.

- Assist clients with inquiries regarding their claims status, providing timely updates and support.

- Gather and analyze relevant information and documentation related to claims to facilitate decision-making.

- Collaborate with underwriters, adjusters, and other internal teams to resolve issues and expedite claims processing.

- Maintain accurate records of all claims activities in the company's database and tracking systems.

- Communicate effectively with clients via phone, email, and in-person, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.

- Assist in the development of claims reports and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to insurance claims processing.

- Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities.

- Support administrative functions such as filing, data entry, and document management as needed.

**Qualifications:** an advantage but not a requirement

- Tier 2 or Tier 1 in Insurance Broking will be highly regarded.

- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an insurance or customer service role; experience with claims processing is a plus.

- Strong understanding of insurance terminology, policies, and procedures.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.

- Proficient in using office software (MS Office Suite) and claims management systems.

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess claims and recommend appropriate actions.
