About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and reliable Yard Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure the yard and workshop areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe, while supporting engineers with equipment preparation, maintenance, and general yard duties.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and workshop.

Prepare welfare units and carry out routine equipment maintenance.

Assist engineers in making fleet available and recovering equipment from sites.

Move, load, and unload equipment as required.

Prepare equipment for hire or sale, including applying stickers and taking photos.

Conduct inspections of units and report on availability and repairs.

Manage stock and inventory.

Ensure walkways are clear and comply with Health & Safety and environmental standards.

Act as a responsible person on site.

Skills & Experience

Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions.

Basic maintenance skills and familiarity with tools.

Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.

Awareness of Health & Safety practices.
