Position Title: Inspection Officer

Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (hourly paid)

Location: Various sites across North Island (travel may be required)

Reports To: Property Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Inspection Officer to join our team on a contract basis. The role involves carrying out property viewings, site inspections, entry and exist inspections, completing documentation, and reporting on compliance with company standards. This position suits someone who enjoys field-based work, can work independently, and delivers accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular property inspections as scheduled (entry, exit and routine).
Assess compliance within the property such as smoke alarms, and healthy homes
Identify risks, hazards, or maintenance issues with the property
Complete accurate inspection reports with photos, notes, and recommendations.
Communicate professionally with the property manager
Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling all information.
Follow health and safety protocols at all times.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in inspections, compliance, property management, or a related field preferred.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential issues quickly.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable using digital tools (PropertyMe, TPS, Google Drive, etc).
Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
Knowledge of New Zealand property management is an advantage.

Contract Details

Type: Independent contractor (not an employee).
Remuneration: Hourly rate (to be agreed upon).
Hours: Variable, depending on workload and site inspection requirements.
Invoicing: Contractor to complete timesheet for appropriate invoicing.
Equipment: Contractor to supply own vehicle.
Travel: Travel between sites may be required (mileage allowance by agreement).

Additional Requirements

Must hold a valid NZ driver’s licence.
Must have legal right to work in New Zealand.
Ability to pass a background check (if required).
