The Learning Support Assistant plays a vital role in promoting enrichment and learning support across the Junior School, Middle School, and Senior School at Brindabella Christian College. Working in close partnership with classroom teachers, the Learning Support Teacher, and the Head of Learning and Enrichment, the Learning Support Assistant ensures that all students are supported in reaching their full potential—academically, socially, and spiritually.

This role is central to the College’s commitment to delivering high-quality, inclusive education underpinned by a Christian ethos. The Learning Support Assistant contributes to the strategic goals of the College by helping to create a learning environment where every student is nurtured and challenged appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

Support and enhance the delivery of effective Learning Support and Enrichment programs across all school levels.
Collaborate with staff to identify and meet the needs of students requiring additional support.
Assist in the implementation of social skills programs and behaviour management strategies.
Supervise and support students with special needs during class, breaks, and excursions.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students under the direction of teaching staff.
Assist students with physical management tasks and specialised medical needs as required.
Prepare teaching materials and learning aids using a variety of digital tools and technologies.
Maintain teaching and support resources, and assist in the general administrative duties of the Learning Support team.
Attend relevant faculty meetings, contribute to team discussions, and engage in ongoing professional learning.
Comply with legislative requirements and uphold the values and mission of Brindabella Christian College.
