About the organisation

He Waka Tapu is a Kaupapa Māori organisation who have been supporting individuals and the community for over 30 years.

About the role

This is a full-time fixed term position based in Wainoni Ōtautahi.

We are looking for a nurse who has experience or is willing to learn to work in the community. You will promote, offer, and provide support to whānau specifically to increase control over and to improve health across the continuum being Mental Health & Addictions, Physical Health, and social wellbeing utilising a holistic approach.

Skills and experience

  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse and hold current Nursing council of New Zealand practising certificate. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a Māori organisation/content and be able to meet the tikanga/kawa requirements. 
  • A high standard of professionalism and work ethic 
  • Outstanding motivational and communication skills 
  • An ability to contribute positively within a team
