It is with great celebration that we announce Employment Hero’s CEO, Ben Thompson, is shortlisted as a National Finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, 2018.
Ben’s status as a National Finalist was announced yesterday evening at the Eastern Region EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards ceremony, held at Carriageworks in Sydney.
“This isn’t my win, this is a win for our entire company. We’ve got an amazing team here at Employment Hero and they work tirelessly every day to bring our company vision to life. This is their success”, said Ben.
“I’m so proud of everything we’ve achieved in five short years and look forward to what the future holds”.

Every year the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards introduces a strong calibre of candidates to the world. This year was no different.
“I am honoured to have been named a National Finalist alongside other amazing entrepreneurs and businesses who are doing great things in Australia and worldwide. There are so many people out there who have seen a problem in the world, taken it upon themselves to solve it and have created amazing businesses as a result”, said Ben.
The finalists all lined up.
Getting shortlisted as a National Finalist was a rigorous process. First Ben had to be nominated to apply for the awards. Then after a written submission, Ben was interviewed, speed dating style, by six judges and assessed against criteria that judged: entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, innovation, strategic direction, personal integrity and influence, and national and global impact.
Now that Ben is a Nationalist Finalist, he will again have to go before the judges to explain Employment Hero and how we plan to make employment easier and more rewarding for everyone.
The EY Entrepreneur of the Year will be announced in October, 2018. We wish Ben the best of luck in the next round of the competition and are excited to see what other candidates bring to the table.
